Audience Feedback: Final Edit

So far, I have only received five out the seven questionnaires back, but I think this is enough to gain some audience feedback from.  Because these were the same people I had asked to do my first edit feedback, they were able to say what I had improved on.

From each question, I have chosen to include 3 answers, as some were very similar and repetitive.

Question 1
  • "the genre horror has been made a lot clearer than in the first edit, mainly due to the change in music.  The shot of the phone being enlarged also draws attention to the fact that it says withheld"
  • "the music choice is much better, and I think that makes it clear that it is a horror movie- the music before didn't do that so well"
  • "horror genre made much clearer, especially clearer than the first edit I watched"
Question 2
  • "I think the storyline has been better established, now the music seems to make it clearer"
  • "the character has been well established, as she is the main focus.  The ticking clocks have intrigued me, as that is an element of the story I didn't really pick up before"
  • "it is clear that she is getting ready to go out, which is why she doesn't answer the phone.  Leads me to think that phones and time will be a big part of the film"
Questions 3, 4 and 5
  • "the choice in music from the first edit is much better, it now creates suspense and fear"
  • "the music is very good at  creating an unknown atmosphere, because you can hear it under the speech and it is continuous for most of the film"
  • "the music at the end is really good, as it seems to get faster and more intense when she starts to look for Dan"
  • "the horror genre is enhanced with the music because the music makes it seem scarier"
  • "overall, the music is very good in relation to the genre, as there is a feeling of suspense at what will happen next"
Question 6
  • "the titles are simple, so they don't draw away from the actual film"
  • "white on black is very effective, stands out well"
  • "can clearly see who's in it, I like the way it fades into the film"
Question 7
  • "I really like the title of the film- you can definitely tell it's going to be a horror film"
  • "there was a sense of suspense that adds to the fear"
  • "the main character acted well and made it easy to relate to"

'Withheld' Final Edit

Finally, here it is! The final edit of my opening sequence, 'Withheld'.

I will send out the new and improved questionnaire for my audience feedback later this evening, the results of which I will blog about tomorrow.

Audience Feedback Questionnaire: Final Edit

Here is the questionnaire I am going to send out to the my target audience.  I have asked that they send them back to me by tomorrow evening, at which time I will blog with the results.

Like in the last questionnaire I sent out, I have asked many open questions, in order to gain the best results.
